Extended Essay on Computer Science

Although I haven’t started my Extended Essay yet, I’m eager to dive into the fascinating world of Computer Science and specifically on the topic sorting and searching algorithms. These algorithms are the backbone of countless technologies we rely on every day, from search engines that instantly retrieve information to apps that organize and categorize massive amounts of data. What intrigues me most is how they balance speed, efficiency, and complexity, especially when applied to real-world problems. Through my essay, I hope to explore how different algorithms perform under varying conditions, what makes one more efficient than another, and the trade-offs developers face when choosing which to use. This project feels like a perfect fit for me because it combines logical reasoning, problem-solving, and an opportunity to connect theoretical computer science with practical applications. While I know it’ll be challenging, I’m excited to tackle this topic head-on and uncover insights that might even shape how I approach coding and algorithms in the future.
